After a heavy rain shower (the first for weeks) this young (?) green woodpecker was hunting round for something - insects - or do they eat works like other birds.

An incredibly clear morning. Another shot showed the detail on these crags even more clearly but I liked the composition here better.

A warm august afternoon at North Berwick, the sea seemed very clean, with seaweed in the sand (rather than on rocks). walking along in the shallows, I was very aware of the changing nature of the beach - soft and sandy, sandy and stones mixed, rocky, then finally very coarse sand.
